About

Lufteknic is an independent Porsche workshop located in Richmond, Virginia (www.lufteknic.com). Dedicated to the preservation and development of the Porsche sportscar heritage, Lufteknic services Porsche cars, providing parts, restoring the older models, and actively participating in the many levels of motor sport.

Matt came to me in late 2010 with the idea of participating in a European vintage car rallye. He had been intrigued with the thought that we could do this under the shop banner, and with the proper planning we could really have a worthwhile event to remember for years to come. I thought It was a great idea, and something that actually has a meaningful goal with a 356 (just starting it's restoration process) we have in the shop.

Both of us have zero experience in "pro-rallye" like activities, and we have much work to do to get to our goal. Practice runs once the car is built. Practice rallye "speak". Participating in US vintage rallye races to get some real world practice. As well as the logistics of bringing a car, supplies, personnel across the world for this spectacular event.

Meetings, budgets, emails/calls, welding, painting, period correct clothing, car appearance, and on and on. This blog is dedicated to our journey every step of the way.

Held late May of each year, we know we have a few years of preparation and organizing before we get there.
